Legon hostel fraud

Thursday, March 2, 2023

According to various anonymous sources and videos circulating on social media as of June 2022, an alumnus of the University of Ghana, Legon, Emmanuel Yeboah Tannor, who was allegedly working for the Ministry of Communications, is said to have reportedly scammed multiple students, accumulating the sum of 20,000 Ghana Cedis. He was later arrested after allegedly attempting to scam two students at the same time on Evandy hostel grounds. After spending a few days in jail at the Legon police station, he was reportedly bailed out and fired from the Ministry of Communications. It is unfortunate that fraudulent cases related to student accommodation have become prevalent in various public universities, leaving some students stranded or forced to drop out.
